Elvie Stride vs Willow Go Breast Pumps: Comparison Post

This post is a comparison post on the Elvie Stride vs Willow Go breast pumps.

The Elvie Stride and Willow Go are the less expensive breast pumps by Elvie and Willow.

They offer many of the same technology and offer a vast number of features that set them aside from their competitors.

Both pumps are highly rated throughout the pumping world. What is funny to note is that Wollow Go came out in 2022, yet it was immediately up to par to breast pumps such as the Elvie Stride and Elvie.

Keep on reading to see how Elvie Stride and Willow Go differ.

Elvie Stride vs Willow Go Breast Pumps

In this post I will cover a number of ways the Willow Go and Elvie Stride differ, such as their price, battery life, settings, and so much more!

Elvie Stride vs Willow Go Breast Pumps

Elvie Stride vs Willow Go Breast Pumps: Price

The Elvie Stride and Willo Go price difference is about $200 USD.

I believe the reason for this difference is because the Willow Go has its own app as well as built-in pump motor, whereas the Elvie Stride has two milk collection cups connected through tubing to the pump motor.

Elvie Stride: $145 USD

Willow Go: $350 USD

Elvie Stride vs Willow Go Breast Pumps: Covered by Health Insurance

Both the Elvie Stride and Willow Go are options for purchase through health insurance. But despite this, most health insurance will not fully cover either pump. If anything, your health insurance may offer the breast pump at a reduced price, leaving you to pay about 40-60% of the pump price.

It is not to say it is not possible to not have it fully covered by health insurance, but it truly depends on having a good health insurance.

Willow Go: No, but most health insurances offer it at a reduced price

Elvie Stride vs Willow Go Breast Pumps: Settings

The Elvie Stride has 10 vacuum levels, whereas the Willow Go has 9 vacuum levels. Additionally, the Willow Go has its own app you can use to change and modify the setting to your liking.

Willow Go: Vacuum suction up to L9

Elvie Stride vs Willow Go Breast Pumps: Battery Life

At almost half the amount of battery life, the Willow Go has a battery life of 1.5 hours, whereas the Elvie Stride’s is 3 hours after being fully charged.

The reason for this difference is that the Willow Go’s hospital grade strength pump motor and battery is all built-in, which means that it has to compact yet work very hard, whereas the Elvie Stride has the pump motor separate from the milk collection cups.

Elvie Stride: 3 hours

Willow Go: 1.5 hours

Elvie Stride vs Willow Go Breast Pumps: Hospital-Grade Strength

The fact that both of these pumps are portable and hospital grade strength is a huge plus in my book!

The Elvie Dual Breast Pump is not hospital grade strength, so it seems that that is one of my main reason they created a pump like the Elvie Stride, which will provide a strong suction and still be portable and have similar technology.

Elvie Stride: Yes

Willow Go: Yes

Elvie Stride vs Willow Go Breast Pumps: Capacity

The Elvie Stride milk collection cups have a capacity of 5 oz of breastmilk, whereas the Willow Go can hold up to 7 oz.

This is something that is definitely a make-or-break for some women due to being overproducers. For example, I used to pump about 8 oz combined throughout the day, so I could use either pump. But for my morning pumping session, I used to pump a total of 12-15 oz, so I would not choose either one of these pumps to do my morning pump (which is normally the pump session that has the most milk output).

Elvie Stride: 5 oz

Willow Go: 7 oz

Both the Elvie Stride and Willow Go are great portable breast pump options. Their main differences are their price, battery life, and milk capacity.

If you are choosing a breast pump to use daily multiple times a day, the Elvie Stride seems to be a better choice with the 3 hours battery life. But if you are looking for a smaller portable pump to use at work, the Willow Go seems to be the best choice due to how compact it is and being cord less.

Regardless of which one you choose, both pumps have been used by hundreds of women who have loved their experience using them, so much so that you can find Facebook Groups on either pump to troubleshoot your pump and to provide help, tips, and advice to moms using either of these pumps.
