This post is about the Legendairy Milk Cups review.
When I discovered the Legendairy Milk Silicone Collection Cups, I was pretty apprehensive. I read a comment someone left on social media that they were using Motif Luna with Battery and Legendairy Milk cups to pump on their way to work.
RELATED: Motif Luna Breast Pump Review
I had never heard of milk collection cups before. I believe I was about 3 months in into my exclusively pumping journey.
With that , I began the search of what these collection cups were. By doing so, I discovered that there were a couple other milk collection cups on the market as well, such as the Cara Cups and the Freemie cups.
After my research and with the little knowledge I had about pumping, I chose to go with the Legendairy Milk cups.
Legendairy Milk Cups Review
The Legendairy Milk Silicone Collection Cups have been in the market for quite a while, but they are still considered relatively new. Due to that, I believe, is why we are seeing more brands starting to create their own version of milk collection cups (i.e., Medela).
I am a big advocate for the Silicone Collection cups due to my positive experience using them as an exclusively pumping mom. They were a literal game changer. I doubt I would had continued pumping had I not learned and used these milk collection cups.
In this article, I will cover what the cup parts are, when you need to replace the parts, as well as a brief comparison with other milk collection cups in the market.
Why Should You Choose the Legendairy Milk Cups
Legendairy Milk Silicone Collection Cups are different from the other cups in the market. Their most distinct feature is that they use a silicone breast shield, as opposed to others in the market using hard plastic.
Furthermore, they have a bigger capacity. They can hold up to 8 oz of breastmilk. But realistically, they hold a little other 9 oz – this is from my personal experience using them.
These cups make every pump discreet. And if you have a pump like the Spectra S1, they it truly makes your pumping experience to be hands free, discreet, and portable. Additionally, pumps like Spectra S1 are hospital grade, so now you get a high quality pump to be hands free, discreet, portable, and hospital grade strength. Count me it!
List of the Legendairy Milk Cups Parts
Here are the following Legendairy Milk Silicone Collection Cups parts and their functions:
Valve Base: The valve base is what connects most of the collection cup together. It is connects to the breast shield, membrane, membrane cap, and valve.
Silicone Breast Shield: The breast shield is made of silicone and wraps around the breast, thus allows for a gentle, yet strong, suction.
Membrane: The membrane contracts as you’re pumping.
Membrane Cap: This is covers the membrane, seals it, and allows for it to contract. It also connects it to the Y-shaped tubing.
Valve: The valve contracts along with the membrane. When it releases, it allows for the milk to flow into the cup.
Y-Shaped Tubing: The Y-shaped tubing connects the both collection cups to the pump motor.
Cup: Once the milk is expressed, it goes into the cup.
Adaptor A & B: The adaptors allows for the collection cups to be compatible with different breast pumps. You will use either adaptor depending on which breast pump you plan on using your collection cups with.

How To Clean and Sterilize Milk Collection Cup Parts
Before their first use, you should sterilize all pump parts, with the exception of the tubing, adaptors, and cups.
After every use, the pump parts (with the exception of the tubing and adaptors) should be washed in hot soapy water.
Do avoid sterilizing your pump parts often because that can result in deterioration and damage.
Legendairy Milk Cups Review
We are beginning to see more and more companies release their own hands free milk collection cups. You may be able to use them and find a “hack” to use them with different breast pumps (i.e., using the Medela cups with the Motif Luna breast pump), but the Legendairy Milk Silicone Cups were designed to be convenient for every single pumping mom, regardless of what pump they own.
As previously mentioned, the cups are compatible with more than 30 different breast pumps! Let me know down in the comments what has been your experience with milk collection cups.
